Frequently Asked Questions

  • Family‑Centered Behavior Consulting provides ABA‑based caregiver‑mediated treatment services focused on helping families understand behavior and support meaningful change at home and in the community.

    Services may include:

    • Functional behavior assessment

    • Behavior support plan development

    • Caregiver training to implement ABA treatment

    • Ongoing treatment and plan revision

    • Professional speaking and workshops

All services are treatment-focused and family-centered.

  • Services are typically provided for children and adolescents, though the specific age range may vary depending on the nature of the concerns and whether services are clinically appropriate.

  • We provide medically necessary ABA treatment through a caregiver‑mediated model rather than intensive clinic‑based or technician‑delivered therapy.  Our treatment focuses on assessment, planning and training caregivers to implement evidence‑based strategies in daily routines.  We do not offer high‑hour or center‑based ABA programs.

  • No. Family-Centered Behavior Consulting does not provide medical, psychological, or educational diagnoses.

Behavior-analytic assessments focus on understanding the function of behavior and identifying environmental variables and skill needs—not diagnosing conditions.

  • All new clients begin with an Initial Consultation.

The initial consultation is a brief, information-gathering conversation designed to:

    • Understand concerns and goals at a high level

    • Determine whether services are clinically and ethically appropriate

    • Clarify scope, fees, and next steps

This consultation is not solution-focused and does not include behavior intervention recommendations.

  • The initial consultation includes:

    • Review of background information

    • Discussion of concerns and priorities

    • Determination of fit, scope, appropriateness, and fees of services

    The consultation does not include:

    • Specific behavior intervention recommendations

    • Treatment planning

    • Problem-solving around individual behaviors

Providing intervention guidance without adequate assessment would be inappropriate and unethical.

  • The initial consultation is 30 minutes and costs $60.

    Fee Policy:

If, following the initial consultation, the clinician determines that services are not clinically or ethically appropriate, the consultation fee will be fully refunded.

If services are offered and the decision to move forward is mutual, the consultation fee is applied toward agreed-upon services.

Families are not obligated to move forward following the consultation.
