About Family-Centered Behavior Consulting

Family-Centered Behavior Consulting, LLC provides behavior analytic services designed to help families better understand and address challenging behavior in everyday home and community settings. The practice emphasizes ethical, evidence-based support that is practical, collaborative, and sustainable.

Services are grounded in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and focus on building caregiver understanding and skill to implement ABA treatment rather than relying on intensive, technician‑driven models. The goal is to support families in implementing strategies that fit naturally into daily routines and align with family values.

Philosophy & Approach

The practice is guided by the following principles:

Family-centered collaboration

Families are viewed as essential partners in assessment, planning, and implementation.

Function-based decision-making

Behavior is understood in context, with interventions designed to address underlying function rather than surface behavior alone.

Skill development and prevention

Emphasis is placed on teaching meaningful skills and adjusting environments to reduce the need for challenging behavior.

Ethical and realistic practice

Recommendations are grounded in professional standards and tailored to strategies families can reasonably implement and sustain.

Scope of Services

Services focus on caregiver‑mediated ABA treatment and may include functional behavior assessment, behavior‑support plan development, caregiver training, and ongoing treatment with plan revision. When a family’s needs fall outside the scope of these services, referrals to appropriate providers or programs are recommended.
